| Abstract: | Multilateral trade negotiations limited to agriculture started again in March 2000. Set out in Article 20 of the Agreement on Agriculture, they are among the WTO’s built-in agenda commitments which Member countries entered into when signing the Final Act Embodying the Results of the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations in Marrakech on 15 April 1994. By the end of the first phase of the negotiations, which continued to March 2001, 45 proposals and three technical submissions had been lodged. They address the main trade and non-trade concerns raised by the multilateral liberalisation of agricultural trade for which the WTO Agreement on Agriculture provides a framework. [Herausgeber] |
